The SmoothStyle 5 frame boasts a 3mm front lower plate, 2mm rear lower, a top plate that's also 2mm and it’s all held together with its beefy 6mm arms. Because lets be honest, your going to smash it into something at some point… and hard. So, we need something strong.

It's front and rear bays are spacious, with the camera bay area being 24mm wide from camera plate to camera plate.

The rear bay is 43mm long between the standoffs, 36mm wide from carbon edge to carbon edge as well as 20mm high. Makeing it have enough room to accommodate almost any video system out there.

The top plate is 2mm thick, with the outside edge chamfered (so those battery straps don't get cut). The SmoothStyle FS has a 17x10mm hole behind the action cam mounting, which makes it possible to run a battery lead through, if you so choose too. The battery mounting area is also fairly large, at 100mm long and 37mm wide. The rear top plate screws have been counter sunk to provide a flush battery mounting.

My favorite pack to run on it is a 6s 1100mah. But, you can run a larger pack. Just run it on its side; and it’ll still make for a great flying experience. With the longer rear, and a heavy battery, I’ve noticed some frames breaking in the rear section. Some frame designers have tried to thicken the rear lower plate, and some have even tried aluminum to help with that issue. And both are a good idea, but I chose to make a special 6mm support key that sandwiches between the rear upper plate, and the front lower. This provides the added support to run those chunky battery’s and help with the impact of the downward forces in a crash.

The arms are 6mm thick, and you can mount any motor with a 16x16 and even up to a 19x19 bolt pattern. The frame also uses a squished X layout measuring 226mm from motor to motor and you're able to use up to a 5.1 inch prop. The arms are mounted using a two screw setup, but designed so that you don’t have to removed the stack screws to change one out (if by some chance you even break one). There are left front, right rear. And right front, left rear arms. So just make sure that when your assembling the frame that the press nuts are facing up. I did that so the contact patch where the arms meet will be as large as possible, and during the inevitable impact the shock would spread completely between the arms and four screws instead of just focused on the two. It also comes with 8 aluminum cones to spread out the clamping force along the bottom plate, as well as a center screw to sandwich the rear top and rear bottom plate at the center. All in all, it’s made for an incredibly durable design, that weights 153g but still offers a flight experience like no other.

The flight controller mounting is done by using the counter sunk 20x20, 30.5x30.5 or the TBS Gorilla-Mount. The space between is 20mm high from stack mounting to top plate. With the stack screws being only attached to the rear top plate it makes it very convenient when servicing.

And so, with that, I hope you all enjoy the SmoothStyle.
